Sunday October 29th marks the long-awaited New York City return of the notorious & meritorious Ben LaMar Gay, who will be fresh off a month-long tour of Europe with his ace quartet (ft. guitarist Will Faber, tubaist Matthew Davis, and drummer Tommaso Moretti). The show kicks off with a very special set of music by a very special human – Tomin – a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, bioinformatician, and poet from Brooklyn, New York. Tomin's primary instruments are the flute, trumpet and alto clarinet, and he participates in the creative music scene as a performer, improvisor, composer and fan. Outside of music, he works in computational genetics, with a focus on oncology. On this occasion, his Tomin'em ensemble will feature Tcheser Holmes on drums, Teiana Davis on keyboards, Clérida Eltimé and Lester St. Louis on cellos, Alfredo Colón on alto saxophone and flute, Linton Smith on trumpet and tambourine, with Tomin on assorted winds, keys and percussion.
