International Anthem @ Public Records NYC 7/16
International Anthem at Public Records
Volume 1
On March 19th, 2022, Alabaster DePlume and Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer inaugurated our quarterly residency at Public Records in Brooklyn NYC with a double bill of beautiful, communal music for a sold-out crowd.
Today we are happy to share a live EP â International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 1) â featuring select recordings of DePlume's and Chiu & Honer's performances from that night, featuring art created for the event by Mark Rice of Goatmother Industrial. Available exclusively for streaming in Hi-Res on Qobuz.
Chiu & Honer opened the event with an expert live performance of their synth/string duo suite Recordings from the à land Islands. The live EP also opens with the duo, doing a flawless rendition of "Snacko" before cutting loose into a creative improvisational passage.
DePlume closed the event, fronting a large ensemble of musicians that were curated for him by fellow label artist jaimie branch. It was DePlumeâs first time meeting and playing with every member of his band â which included Tcheser Holmes (of Irreversible Entanglements) on drums, Hilliard Green on bass, Leila Bordreuil on cello, Emmanuel Ayvas on guitar, Chris Williams on trumpet, Tomin on bass clarinet, and Miriam Parker on dance â as they collectively interpreted works from his then recently-announced, now critically-acclaimed album GOLD.
International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 1) features two long pieces by DePlume â his audience participation, stage staple "Bendy Tube," and a very long, very beautiful performance of "Visit Croatia."
Volume 2
!!! this Saturday night with Anteloper !!!
We share these moments as we're just ahead of the next edition of our quarterly residency at Public Records. This Saturday night, July 16th, ANTELOPER (aka jaimie branch & Jason Nazary) take the stage in The Sound Room to perform & celebrate the release of their new LP Pink Dolphins. The show will be opened by HxH â a new duo from trumpeter Chris Williams and cellist Lester St. Louis (of Fly or Die). DJ sets by our own King Hippo will keep the place warm.
Artwork & Screen Print Posters By Mark Rice Of Goat Mother Industrial
As with the first show, our mellow fellow Mark Rice made some banging posters for this show, which will be available on the merch table at Public Records, along with fresh copies of Anteloper's Pink Dolphins, and a handful of titles from our catalog (aka whatever King Hippo can manage to carry with him from Chicago).
A Few Of These Insta-classics Still Available
And on the note of Goatmother and banging posters... we'd like to send a word to the wise, that we actually still have a few available to purchase via the merch zone on our Bandcamp page. Grab one here while you can!!!
