DOS SANTOS
FEATURED IN ROLLING STONE

"City Of Mirrors, the new album from the Chicago quintet Dos Santos, feels like it’s perpetually building and expanding. Cumbia rhythms rise from the production and mix with jazz melodies; a sudden huapango structure might jut out from a chorus or intro. Since coming together in 2013, the band has always had an effortless way of mixing genres and Latinx traditions, but the bolts are tighter than ever on this project — and the subject matter is weighty and pressing, marking an imaginative step forward for a band that’s never limited itself to begin with."

MUCH MORE LOVE FOR CITY OF MIRRORS

"A relentlessly kaleidoscopic mosaic of novel sound pairings propelled by Latin rhythms, the album evokes the crisp air, soft color, and enveloping warmth of a greenhouse.”
Pitchfork

"Keeping in time with the protest folk songs that many Latinx people grew up hearing, Dos Santos create their own tales of freedom and unity with a dazzling technicality."
Paste Magazine

"Like a spaghetti western from the ’60s, Dos Santos’s “Alma Cósmica” is a burst of narrative mystery."
New York Times

"Exuberant and teeming with character, City of Mirrors is a record that sonically captures the push and pull of our contemporary world."
Chicago Tribune

"A sweeping epic of Latin American rhythms and borderland poetry.”
