Anteloper - "Earthlings”
Today the Brooklyn-based synth-laced deep-bass outer-space improv DUO of jaimie branch and Jason Nazary aka ANTELOPER announce a new single – "Earthlings" – from their forthcoming album Pink Dolphins.
"Earthlings" is a heady banger of a sci-fi slow blues featuring branch on vocals (a first time for her, in the context of Anteloper) as well as trumpet and synths, Nazary on drums and synths, and Pink Dolphins album producer Jeff Parker on electric guitar.
RE: how "Earthlings" came together, Parker recalls: "I made a 4-bar loop from one of Anteloper’s improvisations, and it was banging.” He sent it to branch who was "lightly tripping on LSD at the time" and quickly developed melody and lyrics. By the time she sent her vocals back, Parker had added "a little Kenny Burrell-esgue guitar and smashed the two things together.” If you ask us, it all makes for a hell of a brew, and a major high point for this new chapter of Anteloper.

Along with the digital single today, we are very happy to share this incredible video for "Earthlings." Directed by Jon Philpot, the video features aquadelic animations by Ryan Farmer, Sam Caudill, and Tim Carrillo. About the work, Philpot says: "Echoing off the themes of love, loss and confusion, I set our friends adrift as they summon a magical catharsis."

PINK DOLPHINS RELEASE SHOW @ PUBLIC RECORDS, BROOKLYN JULY 16th
On Saturday July 16th, Anteloper will celebrate Pink Dolphins with an LP release show at Public Records in Brooklyn NYC. There'll be an opening set by HxH (aka new duo from Chris Williams and Lester St. Louis).
This show will be International Anthem's second presentation as part of a new quarterly residency at Public Records, which is supported by our co-presentation partners Qobuz USA. All of our residency performances at Public Records will be recorded, with excerpts to be later released via Qobuz's high fidelity digital music platform.

Also, in case you missed it, Anteloper will be taking part in this mondo extravaganza on July 8th in Chicago. We'll be presenting a triple LP release show *in the round* at the legendary Thalia Hall. Also performing are Daniel Villarreal, in celebration of his new one Panamá 77, and Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer, doing the Chicago debut of music from their recently-released Recordings from the Åland Islands.

Following the turn-of-the-year tear that found jaimie branch and Jason Nazary's psychedelic improvisational electro-acoustic ANTELOPER duo plowing through venues across the United States in support of the first-ever vinyl issue of their 2018 debut Kudu... We are beyond stoked to announce that the duo have new music on the way... in the form of the most fully-actualized sonic dispatch they've committed to tape to date: Pink Dolphins.
The album features a teeming gaggle of top tier sound snippets from improvisational excursions captured by the duo (with engineer Ian Hersey) at Carefree Studios back in 2020 (or was it 2019?). But moreover, and much more notably, the whole thing was wrangled together – i.e. meticulously mixed, edited, and formed – by the wise and guiding hand of certified legend and International Anthem family sage Jeff Parker!
